Yes, the KPO space is one of the places where the money is ;-) We live in interesting times and making money is the least of one's problem, provided one know how to. The issue is more of how does one manage the money and oneself, i.e., not letting the money get to one's head. Yes, money speaks. But not many understand the language it wants us to speak. Like the saying goes: Money is like manure. If you hoard, it stinks. If you spread it around, it blooms a thousand flowers

You are right and it sounds easy in theory but am not sure if its easy to do/acheive in practice! Especially if you are in your 20s and in the initial years of your career (although im sure 90% of the so-called-content ppl in terms of the ones not running after money are over 35-40 years of age).

But I agree with you that its a crazy world with money given unreasonable importance and at the end of the day, it feels like all one is doing is moulding his life in a way that makes him earn the most money.

What for? may be because the economy is growing and so is the potential, in that for eg., a MBA graduate today earns more than double of what a similar graduate earned 2 years back; luxuries and all the good things (like in my blog) are becoming not only more expensive but a mere necessity; competitiveness amongst same age groups, wanting more and more, growing ambitions, mostly material, etc etc

Yes, that totally sucks. Where is the love? where is the life? where are the hobbies you always wanted to pursue? where are the places you always wanted to travel? Where are all the things you always wanted to do in terms of making it a live-able life for the poor??????

Work was supposed to be only a means of earning money enough for your survival and enough for one to do the things mentioned below.

Where is that work-life balance?

It is certainly missing in my life!!!! :(

Nice way of telling me that I am old. :-) The love, the live is all up to you. No one is going to give it to you. It's for you to seek and find.
